A. It's illegal in the US to ask someone's race for the purpose of employment. You should never have to answer that question, and if you do, you should always have "other" as an option.

Why are hate crimes on a rise?
Q. Although "hate-crime" legislation has been championed by minority groups in hopes it would discourage racially motivated crime, a recently released FBI crime report reveals that a higher percentage of blacks than whites are charged with race-biased "hate crimes." The FBI's "Hate Crime Statistics" for 1999 show that 2,030 whites were arrested that year for "hate crimes" against blacks, compared to 524 blacks who were arrested and charged with a "hate crime" against whites. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, blacks make up 12.8 percent of the population -- or about 35.4 million of the country's 280 million people -- so, given the arrest rate versus population percentage, the data indicates that blacks are one-and-a-half times more… [cont.]

The Baby Boomers and Generation X rather wanted big homes, cottages, fancier cars, time sharing and never to leave home without their American Express so two salaries were needed and potential kids were put on the back burner. We need more immigrants since we did not make enough white kids to cover our pensions and taxes. A. Here is a larger view on mankind's continual progress on earth. First will come one standard world language of English, with many words from other languages being added as expanded "English". Maybe in one hundred or less years. Then one world race will be largely achieved; this mixed race will be superior to today's nine somewhat blended races. Life expectancy will increase to several hundred years on average. Maybe in a few hundred more years. Then one planetary government of all people, by all people, and for all people will be established and well functional. Maybe in one or two more thousand years. Then one planetary and universe supernal philosophy and religion will happen in a few thousand to 50,000 (maximum) more years. Sooner… [cont.]

Latinos: How much do you know about your racial/ethnical background?
Q. Once again please do not turn this into a racial subject, it's again for my sociology class, so thank you! What i'm looking for is how far can you trace back your racial/ethnical back ground, for example: Me, i know for a fact my father is of indigenous descent (mexican indigenous , i.e aztecs) and i know for a fact my mother has Spanish (white) blood. So that makes me a mestizo! Thanks to the u.s census people of latin american countries loose their knowledge of what their racial background is, for example, my friend jenny is cuban, but both her parents and her parents parent's are black, they are still of african descent, but she doesn't accept this as for they are from cuba, she say's she's latina/hispanic. A. I guess I'm Mestizo, my mom's side of of the family has "native" features like black hair, tanned skin, etc. while my dad mentioned having blonde haired relatives of his. However, my mom has also speculated that her father may have been half-black, but she doesn't know since he walked out on her mother. Hopefully I'll find out one day through DNA testing :)

Yes, people made some horrendous mistakes in the past...but if you constantly dwell on what has happened you will never be able to change what should be. We all know that slavery was accepted at one time here in the U.S. and I personally wouldn't condone it if it was still in existence today. I abhor the notion altogether. But that practice was ended by Abe Lincoln. And what about the slave owners in Africa and the middle east today? What time frame do most white southerners trace their immigrant descendants from?
Q. Was it during the 1700's? The early 1800's? The entire nineteenth century? It's harder to distinguish within the more inland southern states, because many people from colonial states, and Louisiana, migrated to states like Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi in the early 1800's. In Louisana's circumstance, I know most French and Cajun ancestry, was there prior to France selling it to the U.S., in 1803. Although less common, yet more popular in Lousiana, like Italians, Polish and Jews I'm aware came later in the late 1800's/early 1990's. It's hard to find a dry cut answer on this one. I've found a time frame of when Scots-Irish came, which was mostly in between 1717-1770. They had a large impact on southern culture, especially the accent,… [cont.]

A remarkable mind for so young a person! Since my first computer in 1995 I have had many screen names on several ISP's and discussion boards and one aspect of your conversation here matched my common thesis throughout my past and current postings. That of social engineering. The governmental aim toward preserving privilege for the traditional (and dwindling) majority through racial classification. A. Primarily, it is a difference of opinion. The main reason that the muslim hates jews, was that back in the world war 2 era the NAZI came to the arab world and provide propaganda and since then the propaganda was used by muslim extremist to exterminate jews. Other factors are also have the hand in making the muslim hate the jews. Now, the issues between the christians and muslims are due to the christian ministries going around other countries and telling muslims that their religion is wrong and if they don't convert to christianity, that they will be condemned to hell. Also, many christians used the history of the muslim prophet Muhhamad to their advantage when they are trying to spread their religion in other countries. It goes the… [cont.]
