This ancient piazza is a popular spot for people to hang out to admire wonderful Renaissance and Baroque buildings street artists musicians and poets and have a drink or two in the process The open air market preserves the lively bohemian atmosphere of the medieval inns that once flourished here The area surrounding Campo de Fiori also contains Rennaisance palazzi such as Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo Spada where powerful Roman families built their fortress like houses near the route of papal processions By day there are great buildings to admire though few are open to the public Today s market retains much of the traditional atmosphere Many of the streets near Campo de Fiori are named after the artisans who traditionally occupied them

Was Shakespeare a Medieval or Renaissance writer?
Q. I know that he obviously wrote in the Renaissance period, but were his beliefs more of a Medievalist or or Renaissance writer?
Asked by John - Thu Jan 15 19:40:31 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Renaissance. He is interested in exploring humanity for what it is, not in glorifying God, as medieval writer would do.

What really dragged Medieval England out of the dark ages? The Renaissance or the Islamic?
Q. I would like to know if the islamic or the renaissance had more effect on Medieval England and it's transition out of the dark ages. Also, if it was the renaissance how would you rebut that and say, No it was the Islamic?
Asked by QUeeNoFPoP - Sun Jun 14 01:20:11 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The Islamic Golden Age was around the 700s-1200s and that was in the middle of the dark ages. The Renaissance started around the mid 14th century so it could be seen as the end, however, the scientific advances of the Muslims were also used during this time. It's hard to tell, but for England alone, probably the Renaissance. EDIT: Apparently the poster above has not seen the influence that Muslim advances have on our daily lives. Of course the Christians invented everything right?

A. Medieval art wasn't as well put together as the renaissance art was. Michael angelo created many sculptures and famous paintings as well as divinci. the renaissance art was well you could say finer or even more advanced.
