A toy is a thing used in play. Toys are usually associated with children and pets, but it is not unusual for adult beings and some non-domesticated dogs, cats, mice etc. to play with toys. Many items are processed to serve as toys, but goods, or (game-centric) services produced for other purposes can also be used as toys. A child may pick up a household item and "fly" it around pretending that it is an airplane, or an animal might play with a pinecone by batting at it, biting it, chasing it, or by throwing it up in the air. Some toys are produced primarily as collector's items and are not intended to be played with. The origin of toys is prehistoric; dolls representing infants, animals, and soldiers, as well as representations of tools used by adults are readily found at archaeological sites. The origin of the word "toy" is unknown, but it is believed that it was first used in the 14th century. Toys, and play in general, are important when it comes to growing up and learning about the world around us. The young use toys and play to discover their identity, help their bodies grow strong, learn cause and effect, explore relationships, and practice skills they will need as adults. Adults use toys and play to form and strengthen social bonds, teach, remember and reinforce lessons from their youth, discover their identity, exercise their minds and bodies, explore relationships, practice skills, and decorate their living spaces. Toys are more than simple amusement, they and the ways that they are used profoundly influence many aspects of life. Keep them soft, would be my recommendation. Otherwise, maybe something like the Early Learning Centre can advise? Answered by cuddles_gb - Tue Nov 13 07:40:31 2007 What are the best toys and activities for a two year old boy? Q. My son is 2 years old. I would like some feedback about what other 2 year old boys enjoy and what toys are popular for this age. Asked by sugarbaby29mk - Thu May 14 23:27:51 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. When my son was 2, he LOVED the Thomas the train sets. I ended up buying him an imagniarium train table (its just like the thomas the train table, just not the thomas the train brand, so its a bit cheaper). It came with TONS of wood train tracks and the wood trains. He absolutely LOVED it. My son is now 5, and he still plays with it, and my daughter who is 15 months also has started playing with. I think its a great investment. They are so sturdy, and last through the years! I spent $120 for mine, and it was well worth it. You can always add on to it too with neat train stations and what not. Answered by brokenmasochist - Thu May 14 23:36:25 2009 what kind of toys are good for beagle pups?
Q. i have a 10 week old beagle, and he has some toys he likes. He plays with all his toys and a pair of old shoes he plays with for hours a day. My husband and i play with him at least 8/10 hours a day and he sleeps with us at night. We even go for 3 walks a day, but this still doesn't keep him content. I thought about getting another beagle, but i can't have another one. Anyone have any suggestions about some good toys? I have him in a beagle rabbit club, where he is learning to hunt rabbits slowly.
