Nouncommunities
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. In biological terms, a Community is a group of interacting organisms sharing an environment. In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness. In sociology, the concept of community has led to significant debate, and sociologists are yet to reach agreement on a definition of the term. There were ninety-four discrete definitions of the term by the mid-1950s. Traditionally a "community" has been defined as a group of interacting people living in a common location. The word is often used to refer to a group that is organized around common values and social cohesion within a shared geographical location, generally in social units larger than a household. The word can also refer to the national community or global community. The word community is derived from the Old French communité which is derived from the Latin communitas (cum, "with/together" + munus, "gift"), a broad term for fellowship or organized society. Since the advent of the Internet, the concept of Community no longer has geographical limitations, as people can now virtually gather in an online community and share common interests regardless of physical location. GNU Free Documentation License How can we encourage young people to contribute to their communities? Q. I find that students who are required to participate in a community service program are very disinterested in helping others. I'm sure this is not for all young people, but on the whole, I've found that community service is something that students aren't motivated to do on their own at all anymore. I think it is important for young people to be involved in their communities because it helps them to grow up to be active citizens and helpful individuals. How can we increase interest in community service? Yes, For community 1, percentage of people saying yes=55/120=45.8% For Comm 2: Percentage=115/400=28.75 Hence, for community 1, out of 100 people, 45.8 people say yes, and in community 2, out of 100 people, only 28.75 people say yes!!! Hence the attitude differs in the 2 communities. Answered by SilentRules - Tue Dec 1 04:42:25 2009 What are the best communities to purchase a home in Denver, Colorado?
Q. What are the best communities to purchase a home in Denver, Colorado area? I will be moving there next summer and my work location will be around the South of Denver area. I'm looking for an area with good schools, low crime, and nice track homes in the low to mid 300K range. Mostly interested in new homes (new tracks)! Thanks I believe the company that I work for is moving to either Littleton or Greenwood Village. I am moving from Southern California and traffic is bad here, so any commute under 30 minutes is fantastic. Asked by kfm1976 - Wed Nov 29 16:47:38 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Depends where exactly you are moving to. South West Denver is Littleton (Jefferson County) and South East Denver is Aurora. I no longer live in Colorado but I always preferred Jefferson County, however, you may be closer to Castle Rock. Denver area is huge and the traffic is awful. It really depends where you are moving from. Answered by Jennifer G - Wed Nov 29 17:38:55 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "communities" National Grid donates $750k to City Year
