What is the cost of living difference between Dallas and Basel, Switzerland?
Q. My wife and I are considering making a move from Dallas to Basel. I realize that living abroad as a US citizen will likely be more expensive, but wanted to know what type of differential there actually is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A. im not really familiar with the tax system in switzerland. i know it's higher than texas but there are also loads of benefits. standard of living (food, transportation, accommodation, etc) is also dear. but i think that will be compensated with a higher salary. basel is a university town so there will always be places for cheaper necessities. and yes, it is a beautiful place

How can my wife find an elementary teaching job in the Dallas area?
Q. We are relocating to the the Dallas area, more specifically McKinney. My wife has applied at over 20 districts in and around Dallas in hopes of getting interviewed for a job. Unfortunately we are now close to July and she has received no phone calls. She has been attempting to visit schools and talk to principles but has not received a lot of attention from the schools. Is she doing something wrong or are we doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My wife is a terrific person as well as caring teacher and has great recommendations from her previous school.

A. Whether or not your wife hears from the districts she has applied with is going to depend on a couple of factors. The first being what her certification is in, and whether or not it is from Texas. If she does not have a TEXAS teaching certification, you will need to have her check with the State Board of Education to see what needs to be done to have her licensed here. This could be as simple as taking the ExCet test or could require more effort. She probably will be able to get an emergency certification if she is in an area that teachers are desperately needed in. What kinds of dessert on groom table to coordinated with Dallas Cowboys theme?
Q. For my wedding reception, I am making my husband to be a dallas cowboys cake. Their colors are blue and silver-some people include white. But anyway, what desserts (besides just candy) can I include on the table that are of those colors or would coordinated with the cake? And no it does not have to coordinate but I would like it to-just personal preference. You can list candies but I would like other ideas besides just candy also. Thank you.

Go cowboys!!! that's cool that you're doing this table. very original. i would buy some m&m' s and put them on the table. or you could make it like a "cowboys game day" table with sweets and some of the grooms fave snacks for game day. but that's what i would do just to have fun with the idea. good luck:)
