Disneyland is an American theme park in Anaheim, California, owned and operated by the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division of The Walt Disney Company. It was dedicated with a press preview on July 17, 1955, and opened to the general public July 18, 1955. Disneyland holds the distinction of being the only theme park to be designed, built, opened, and operated by Walt Disney himself. Currently the park has been visited by more than 515 million guests since it opened, including presidents, royalty and other heads of state. In 1998, the theme park was re-branded "Disneyland Park" to distinguish it from the larger Disneyland Resort complex. In 2007, more than 14,800,000 people visited the park making it the second most visited park in the world, behind the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. I did go for my birthday this year which was the second week in February and the Disneyland pool was open as all three of the Disney Resort hotel pools are open year round. Although if they are doing maintenance on the Pool you are invited to use the other two Disney Pools at Grand Californian and Paradise Pier. All you do is use you room key or resort card and that will allow you access. If fact if you go to the Paradise Pier pool they have a water slide and the pool is on the third floor which also gives you a great view at night of the Fireworks at Disneyland. Q. Hey, I'm planning a trip to Disneyland. It is likely just going to be m sister and I. I am trying to keep it somewhat inexpensive because I am saving for my Disney World/Cruise honeymoon and a house. We are going four about 7 nights. Looking to go to both Disney parks, Legoland, San Diego Zoo, Universal, the OC Tour and also a shopping district near Disneyland, I forget the name they have Dave & Busters, Krispy creme, movie theatre, etc. I'm wanting some nice places to eat at each park and in the area. We won't have a car, just ART to get around, so it needs to be nearby and in the parks. I'm looking to spend around $10 per person per meal, if under it is even better, but this is a ball park.
