Q. What happens to the electors (electoral college) after the president is elected? Are they only needed for this process -- electing the president? Do they have any role after the president is elected? Doesn't it seem like a roundabout way of choosing the president through these electors? I feel since the electors have anyways pledged their loyalties to a particular candidate, we may as well skip the electors part and directly choose the candidate elected by the public, isn't it? You contact your Representative/Congresspe rson. Do you know how to locate him/her? Go to www.thomas.gov, left sidebar choose, House of Representatives, on the web page that pops up next, choose, "find your Representative", you will need your zip + 4, take you right to them, click on their name, it will bring up their webpage an dtheir phone # in the Rayburn, the building where Congress has their offices. I have 2 (800) phone numbers to the switchboard but they are downstairs, you'll need the (202) number. Good Luck on that one, since "No Child Left Behind" bill was vetoed by your fearful Leader. Answered by Rhoda O - Mon Oct 13 19:08:13 2008 What are the arguments against Ron Paul being elected for President?
Q. I never really found any good arguments for him not running. All I find are people that say he is a lunatic or he can't get elected. Those are really just extremely shallow statements. I want real arguments with facts and the works. I will pick the best argument against Ron Paul. I support him, but I like to debate with facts. Thanks. He wants to return to a gold standard in this country, one of those lunatic policies you mentioned earlier. He wants to destroy the IRS. Okay, who doesn't, but he'd have us institute the Fair Tax, which is hardly fair at all. The Fair Tax would leave rich people with the option of buying boats, cars, movies, even goods and services, from outside of the United States, leaving the support of the economy almost squarely on the shoulders of the middle class. Unless he thinks we should also impose a huge import tax, which would cause an uproar and may even cause foreign nations to retaliate, the Fair Tax is just another way of saying "We've got what… [cont.] Answered by Paper Mage - Wed Sep 5 04:11:13 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "elected" |
