From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A game is a structured activity, usually undertaken for enjoyment and sometimes used as an educational tool. Games are distinct from work, which is usually carried out for remuneration, and from art, which is more concerned with the expression of ideas. However, the distinction is not clear-cut, and many games are also considered to be work (such as professional players of spectator sports/games) or art (such as jigsaw puzzles or games involving an artistic layout such as Mahjong solitaire). Key components of games are goals, rules, challenge, and interaction. Games generally involve mental or physical stimulation, and often both. Many games help develop practical skills, serve as a form of exercise, or otherwise perform an educational, simulational or psychological role. According to Chris Crawford, the requirement for player interaction puts activities such as jigsaw puzzles and solitaire "games" into the category of puzzles rather than games. Attested as early as 2600 BC, games are a universal part of human experience and present in all cultures. The Royal Game of Ur, Senet, and Mancala are some of the oldest known games. Q. Well, I'm new to the whole renting games thing, but I've decided to try it out. The website didn't tell me much, so I'm asking Yahoo. Do you need a membership to rent games? (Just to make sure) And if so, what are the membership details? Is there a cost to renting games or is it a monthly plan thing? Just any and all information about memberships and game rentals will be good. Asked by jung p - Thu Jun 25 05:11:31 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well, if you plan on renting a lot of games, you might want to opt for the month rental. My friend has it. He can either rent two movies, two games or a movie and a game and return it the next day for another two movies, games or one of each. It's about 35 dollars. A membership from Blockbuster is simple, but not necessary. However, if you plan to rent a lot, it'll be easier to just do it. You just need your credit card, and they'll help you with the rest and hand you a plastic Blockbuster card to use whenever you rent. Answered by Jeeniasity - Thu Jun 25 05:36:30 2009 How long before a game should you eat a small meal? Q. I have a big game at 4:00 today. It's a soccer game, so there will be a lot of running. What time should I eat a small meal to give myself energy? And does anyone have suggestions on what to eat? Asked by Sarah L - Wed Jun 24 11:26:08 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. you should do the same thing a lot of runners do. carb up the night before your games. pasta dinners are great and cheap...have a couple of the guys from the team over, cook up a couple plates of pasta, and watch some movies, or something (you don't even have to make the pasta sauce, just buy some healthy ones from the store...so no alfredo, or mac 'n cheese, etc.). tomato sauce with vegetables is a great choice. aside from a generally healthy diet i think that's probably the best way to prep for your game. carb up the night before, and then have something about an hour or two before your game...i always tried to eat something that was easy to put together like a salad with a homemade vinaigrette because that's healthier than store-bou [cont.] Answered by David C - Fri Jun 26 16:06:03 2009 How long does a baseball game usaully last?
Q. So theres a football game coming on a channel at 7:15 PM on Saturday. And theres a baseball game coming on before it that starts at 5:05 PM. What are the chances the baseball game will interfere with the televised game at 7:15. Thanks. Asked by John - Wed Sep 9 20:23:55 2009 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments A.
