A. A. I think you are probably referring to Ludendorff's Spring Offensive, which was the final push by the Germans to win the war. B. I'm not exactly sure about that figure, although they certainly came extremely close to Paris C. I'm not really sure about this point, I would be inclined to say no thats not right, because it was more of a turning of the tides against the Germans, so I don't know that a specific date could be pin pointed to when this happened. The war continued right up until armistice, which wasn't til the 11th of November 1918... D. Not sure about the date, but yes Foch did launch a counterattack against the Germans with the help of the Americans E. Kaiser Wilhem's abdication was announced by Prince Max von Baden on 9th… [cont.]

An American history question for those who can handle it!?
Q. Ok...I guess if I was taught this in school I wasn't paying attention that day. Most african american's have last names that are English or Irish heritage. A few have Spanish or Italian. Why don't they have German, Greek, or Polish last names? My guess would be that those countries did not migrate to the US at the time slavery was legal, hence no slaves. That being said, I know my heritage is German and my dad's dad was born in Germany and his mom's parent's were born there so they came here after slavery was banned. On my mom's side, her mom's dad was german heritage and her mom's ancestor's were from Pennsylvania (slavery was illegal there) and her dad ancestors came here from Ireland after slavery. Why do some people whink white people… [cont.]

A. The slave trade has been going on since before written history and continues to this very day.In days of old it was common practice to enslave a defeated enemy, in some civilizations you could even enslave someone for owing a debt. The african slave trade is by no means unique, slavery has been a fact of life in Africa since the beginning, slaves were always valued spoils of war among fighting tribes,Anyone that thinks the slave trade started because a boatload of europeans sailed down to Africa and started rounding up peaceful natives is sadly mistaken, at the… [cont.]
