Now that we have Confederate month, as a conservative should I stop complaining about other history months?
Q. As a white southerner I have always complained about the likes of Black history month, Hispanic-American history month, Asian-american history month, Native-American history month, Jewish American history month, German-american heritage month, and all the rest of the history months we celebrate on a national level every year! but since we are starting to see Confederate History month gaining steam among my fellow Conservatives, is it time we embrace them all! i mean its practically white history month according to the advocates of it at my local tea party!

A. A. I think you are probably referring to Ludendorff's Spring Offensive, which was the final push by the Germans to win the war. B. I'm not exactly sure about that figure, although they certainly came extremely close to Paris C. I'm not really sure about this point, I would be inclined to say no thats not right, because it was more of a turning of the tides against the Germans, so I don't know that a specific date could be pin pointed to when this happened. The war continued right up until armistice, which wasn't til the 11th of November 1918... D. Not sure about the date, but yes Foch did launch a counterattack against the Germans with the help of the Americans E. Kaiser Wilhem's abdication was announced by Prince Max von Baden on 9th… [cont.]

A. German is the predominant ancestry amongst Americans, followed by Irish and French. If you're talking "North Americans", then French and Spanish (for Canada and Mexico) would be the obvious answers.

I'm not really concerned with the AP part, but just that they are complete opposites of each other. Should I take American and European? Or will I mix them up? Etc? If I shouldn't take them both at the same time my other options are: Volunteer Public Service (So I can get community service hours for scholarships) German 1 Astronomy Physics 1 Aerobics Beg. & Int. Arabic 1 Any suggestions?

A. There is nothing wrong with taking them at the same time, but the tests at the end of the year will kill you. I took the AP US history this year and I was fried for the rest of the day. Plus, the people who set up the tests put the dates of the test on the same day too. You would be taking one four hour test in the morning and about a half hour later, take another one. It would not be worth it. Astronomy sounds like a blast though. I'm signed up to take it next year.

Didn't 11,000 German American citizens get detained just because they were German. I mean my book mentions all about women in baseball but decides that 11,000 detained entirely innocent German Americans deserve not a single sentence??? American military history, a list of events, explain whether or not you can prove or disprove them?
Q. Please cite your sources as well, I will do it too. The premise for my argument is that the United States has deliberately provoked its enemies into attacking it, and that it hasn't ever had an enemy but has needed excuses to go to war to proceed with its plans of a new world order. For example, the sinking of the US Luisitania by a German U-boat was the result of conspirators, namely Woodrow Wilson and Winston Churchill that intentionally put that passenger ship in waters where the war was going on, and that the Germans had warned Americans through messages through the newspapers not to travel where the sea battles were taking place. This ship had explosives inside of it and was sunk. On average, 9/10 Americans didn't want to go to war… [cont.]

A. Doesn't seem like you are really asking a question here, but along with this line of thinking, perhaps you should do some research about what instructions the first Bush administration gave to Ambassador Gillespie when he went to talk to Saddam Hussein before the first gulf war. In a 1992 debate, Ross Perot swore that Ambassador Gillespie was given a memo which had instructions to tell Hussein that we would not get involved in his border dispute, but we ended up reacting when he took too much land and started occupying Kuwaiti oil fields. As Perot said in the debate, "I want to see that memo."

To what extent do you learn U.S. History in Europe?
Q. Just wondering... Here (in the U.S.) we kind of blanket European History into a couple of classes - like there's no French History class, German History class, etc because European History is a lot of times so interrelated. But - the U.S. is just one country, so I don't know why you would devote a class specifically to it unless you live there. Is there like a general American History that covers North and South American countries?

A. Hummm..Interesting As I have Austrian citizenship as well as American I can tell you they are vastly different. I never went to secondary school there of course but I can tell you that European history is so vast-compared to North and South America. Basically, they got about 4000 years on us here in the states-in some form or another. It is important that although most of Europe is some form of democracy-they are not Capitalist as we are here. For the most part anything American is frowned upon by the establishment. On the other hand the kids,as you would expect, just eat it up-anything and everything American-fashion, movies, celebs(especially) sports, music and now American Television is more popular than ever. So, the answer is,… [cont.]

Angela Merkel's reaction to George Bush's "massage" must have sent shivers down German/American relations?
