A hypothesis (from Greek ὑπόθεσις [iˈpoθesis]) consists either of a suggested explanation for an observable phenomenon or of a reasoned proposal predicting a possible causal correlation among multiple phenomena. The term derives from the Greek, hypotithenai meaning "to put under" or "to suppose." The scientific method requires that one can test a scientific hypothesis. Scientists generally base such hypotheses on previous observations or on extensions of scientific theories. Even though the words "hypothesis" and "theory" are often used synonymously in common and informal usage, a scientific hypothesis is not the same as a scientific theory. A hypothesis is never to be stated as a question, but always as a statement with an explanation following it. It is not to be a question because it states what the experimenter thinks will occur. Hypotheses are usually written in the "if-then form": If X, then Y.

What are some of the hypotheses of Creationism/evolution, and how have they been tested?
Q. I posted this question late at night, but few people answered. I went to reasons.org, and all of the hypotheses had been created by evolution/big bang theorists. I did not find one hypothesis created by a creationist. This is not atheism/theism question. I am a theist that believes in evolution. I would prefer if you had a link to a study. For instance, this is a link I recieved last night in support of evolution. I just want an example of a study that tests a Creationists hypothesis. I just see a lot of opinions.

A. How should the difference of opinion between the theist and the atheist be rationally resolved? The non-believer will argue that the existence of God is a factual question, and should be answered in the same way as any other factual questions. The assumption that all existence claims are questions about matters of fact, the assumption that all of these are answered in the very same way is not only over-simplified and misleading, it is simply mistaken. The existence, factuality or reality of different kinds of things, is not established or disconfirmed in the same way in every case. We might ask , "Is there a box of crackers in the pantry?" And we know how we would go about answering that question. But that is a far, far cry from the way… [cont.]
