It is a transliteration of Hebrew יְהֹוָה, a vocalization of the sacred Tetragrammaton יהוה, the name that, according to the Bible, God revealed to his people. יְהֹוָה appears 6,518 times in the traditional Masoretic Text, in addition to 305 instances of יֱהֹוִה (Jehovih). Q. My parents have believed that everyone in the world is going to die but Jehovah's Witnesses since 1974. Their dedication to 'The Society' as taken them away from their only family. They are showing signs of mental illness. They are overly emotional, very judgemental and they stare off into space and swear 'armageddon' is coming anytime anything happens in the news.
