What does it take to make it to the major leagues?
Q. I am in the 8th grade right now and i figured its time to get even more serious about baseball. I am just wondering how much i should start working out and practicing hitting and fielding. I am a starting second baseman for my middle school team. It would be great if i could get an answer from a high school coach or former or current minor league player. When i said it would be great if i could get an answer from a high school coach or minor league player i didnt mean that was the only people i wanted answering the question. Any help would be appreciated.

A. well take it from a guy who will play professionaly u need to be running everyday second baseman need good footwork and u need to be practicing ur handles and be hitting everyday...well almost everyday as a pitcher i do alot of lower body excersices my friend (a second baseman) runs with me and i throw him bp half speed wich is like 45 -50 mph so u should at 14 or 13 be hitting bp at 30 to 40 mph and go hit full speed two times a week also some squats leg presses weighted squats pullups and pushups would help good luck.
