What quotes could one legally put on an object being sold as a fundraiser?
Q. I am planning to sell buttons at this year's Relay for Life as an on-site fund raiser, and I was wondering what I could legally put on them. I was specifically thinking of movie quotes (either directly or rephrasing, ex. "My name is Bambi. You killed my mother. Prepare to die.") 100% of the money will go to the American Cancer Society, but I know that quote copyright laws are tricky and I don't want to get into any trouble. So, anyone know? Thanks in advance!

A. for the application you're discussing, no one will care. You're selling such a small number of items and for such a short time that litigation would be pointless, and would embarass the heck out of anyone who sued you. I don't think even Disney would sue you, and they are notorious for guarding trademarks. It -is- polite to give sources, but you don't need to in your application.

Any good quotes on living your life or age?
Q. I am writing an essay and I wanted to know if anyone has any good quotes on age. The essay is about a book I read where most people don't live above the age of 45. They live in a future society where there is no love, no freedom, and everything is planned out for you. I need a quote to begin the paper about age or life that will be appropriate for the story. Thanks for the help!

A. Wow, I'd be close to death in that world (yikes!) An interesting one that could direct your essay a bit (since by your description the people don't have much of a life): "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln Good Luck!

A. "look back on our struggle for freedom, trace the present day's strength to it's source , and you will find that man's pathway to Glory is strewn with the bones of a horse" "The spirited horse which will of itself striev to win the race, will run more swiftly if encouraged" "When your young and fall off a horse you may break bones. When you're my age... You splatter" ~Roy Rogers on riding when he was older
