Transport or transportation is the movement of people and goods from one location to another. Transport is performed by various modes, such as air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles, and operations. Infrastructure consists of the fixed installations necessary for transport, and may be roads, railways, airways, waterways, canals and pipelines, and terminals such as airports, railway stations, bus stations, warehouses, trucking terminals, refueling depots (including fueling docks and fuel stations), and seaports. Terminals may both be used for interchange of passengers and cargo, and for maintenance. Vehicles traveling on these networks include vehicles of appropriate types such as automobiles, bicycles, buses, trains, trucks, people, helicopters, and aircraft. Operations deal with the way the vehicles are operated, and the procedures set for this purpose including financing, legalities and policies. In the transport industry, operations and ownership of infrastructure can be either public or private, depending on the country and mode. Passenger transport may be public, where operators provide scheduled services, or private. Freight transport has become focused on containerization, although bulk transport is used for large volumes of durable items. Transport plays an important part in economic growth and globalization, but most types cause air pollution and use large amounts of land. While it is heavily subsidized by governments, good planning of transport is essential to make traffic flow, and restrain urban sprawl. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What transportation can I take from Incheon Airport to Camp Casey? Q. I am civilian visiting my fiance that is stationed in Camp Casey. I am staying at Casey Lodge, I would like to know the quickest and safest way/transportation to get to Camp Case? How much would it cost? And what transportation is cost efficient? If you arrive during the day and not too late in the evening, you may be able to take the USO bus to Yongsan and then switch to the Camp Casey bus there. The USO bus is free and the Myungjin Bus to Casey is about $4.00. This is the cheapest, but will take you about 2 hours...depending on traffic...to get to Camp Casey. Problem is, I think you need to produce a military ID or dependent ID to use those buses. However, is is the schedule for them: Probably the best way in your case is to take a limousine bus from the airport to Uijeongbu (airport bus stops 2A & 8B, runs once/hour, 12,000 won)- the last stop is Uijeongbu Terminal. From there, take a bus to Dongducheon (maybe another 2,00 [cont.] Answered by Archangel - Sun Jul 12 01:03:35 2009 What are modes of Transportation from Indiana to Kentucky? Q. My brother and I are planning a trip back down home to good 'ol Kentucky from Purdue, and I need a list of transportation modes (ie Greyhound, AmTrak) to get there. Are their other methods of transportation besides these? Please help us! -Michael G. Asked by MikeyGarland - Fri Dec 5 19:38:07 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. You don't say where in Kentucky you're heading--it's a large state. Amtrak has one train that goes through Lafayette--the Cardinal. It goes between Chicago and DC, skimming along the Kentucky/Ohio border. If you wanted the far western part of Kentucky, you could go to Chicago and then get on Amtrak's City of New Orleans, which stops at Fulton, KY. If you're interested in the central part of Kentucky, Amtrak won't be of much help to you. Answered by DON W - Sun Dec 7 16:54:08 2008 How do get transportation to Borgata Casino?
Q. I'm taking a bus into atlantic city, but from there what type of transportation is available to get to the casino. I know there are casinos all along the boardwalk, but the Borgata is a couple of miles away. Do they have a shuttle or anything, or does the nj transit system make a stop at the Borgata? Asked by coachhdb_2000 - Sun Jun 8 23:15:43 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. You could also take the jitney. The jitney is a mini-bus and costs very little. It stops at every casino though and at times is kind of scary. Prior post is right.. If you can't afford the cab ($10 at most from Boardwalk), you shouldn't even go.
